The Upper Rhondda Angling Club 

Club was formed way back in 1957 and since then the club as flourished to this day. Llyn Fawr has an area of 9.8 hectares (24 acres) and lies south of Rhigos in the Town of Aberdare in the unitary authority of Rhondda Cynon Taff. It lies near the source of the river Rhondda Fawr, at an altitude of 368 metres, and is overlooked by the crags of Craig y Llyn. Originally a smaller lake, it was converted into a reservoir in the early 20th century.

The Llyn Fawr is a prime peice of water which offers some quality and value for money fishing it over look a beatuiful peice of scenery now as the seven sisters a mountain range located breacon beacons.

2015 see new changes being made to the club which will hopefully fetch it in to the 21st century.

The Llyn Fawr was also featured in Trout Fisherman April 2014 Ceri Jones a former member of the U.R.A.A did a great job on the feature and did our water justice.

We are welcoming new members to the club with open arms and all who wish to inquire please use the relivant contact numbers we also have value for money day tickets both catch and release and kill fish tickets.

We also offer group tickets for angling clubs last year seen the first visit of the cheltnham pheasants and also a few members of the Fly Fishing In Wales facebook group.
